Renewing Your Mind
Adam and Eve initially had minds that were untouched by sin. God said His creation, including their minds, were very good. The goal of this course is to renew what we think and how we think so we can renew our minds to that initial state that was pleasing to God. We cannot do this on our own, but God is able and willing to help us as we are “transformed by the renewing of our minds.”
The Renewing Your Mind course is structured around six stages of renewal, each building upon the other. In the weekly sessions, we’ll cover these six areas where our minds may need to be renewed.
- Renew Your Knowledge of God
Key characteristics of God you may have forgotten. - Renew Your Meta Narrative
What is God’s plan and my part in it? - Renew Your Fearlessness
You were not designed for constant fear and anxiety. - Renew Your Ability to Focus
The distractions of this world clutter your mind. - Renew Your Love of Fellowship
Your mind was designed for relationship. - Renew Your Lost Language
Only your renewed mind can fully communicate with God.
During the lessons, we’ll discuss many of the physiological details, related areas of the brain, neurons, neurotransmitters, the multiple types of memory, and the development of our brain from conception to old age. We will also discuss philosophical questions such as the Mind-Body Problem, and Theory of Mind and see how they relate to our spiritual natures. Throughout the lessons we’ll also learn seven Renewal Techniques: practical actions and related scriptures that can help in the renewal process and our general spiritual growth.
We hope this course will help you fulfill the "Greatest Commandment" to "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with
all your mind." (Matthew 22:37).
